Our mission is to provide nutritious food and basic necessities for University of Iowa students, faculty, and staff in need, and to fight food insecurity through education and advocacy.

The Food Pantry is a service available for ANY student, staff, or faculty member at the University of Iowa.

The current pick-up date is Wednesday, July 15th.  Please sign up HERE to reserve a time.  

The Food Pantry at Iowa is providing  pre-packaged bags of food every Wednesday for pick-up until further notice. This service is available for ANY student, staff, or faculty member at the University of Iowa. All pantry operations will follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and University of Iowa health and safety guidelines.   

Each week, a sign-up link will be posted on the Food Pantry’s website and Facebook page. 

On the date and time of pick-up, bring your University ID card to the South Entrance of the Iowa Memorial Union. Please note that all distribution will occur outside of the building. 

After checking in, you will be able to request a variety of items such as fresh produce, protein, beans, pasta, canned fruits/vegetables, soup, breakfast items, snacks, and toiletries based on availability. We will do our best to provide as many of these items as possible at each visit.

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)

Did you know college students can be eligible to receive SNAP benefits?  Apply online at www.oasis.iowa.gov.  For assistance with an application or questions about the IFBA Food Assistance Outreach Program, call the hotline at 1-855-944-FOOD(3663) or email FoodAssistanceOutreach@iowafba.org.  Learn about the Iowa Food Bank Association at www.iowafba.org.
