2020 Breaks
The 2020 Hawkeye Service Breaks teams will travel to 12 different locations and work with nearly 40 nonprofit partners during spring break (March 14-19, 2020).
In an effort to create easier access, Hawkeye Service Breaks is changing the way students join a team this year. Rather than completing an online application and waiting for a selection decision, students can enroll directly in the academic course section of their choice. To join a spring 2020 team, follow these instructions:
- Confirm your specified registration date for Spring 2020 classes and ensure that you review this information in advance of that date
- Review the location, focus area, and sponsor for each team shown in the list below
- Check to make sure you meet the qualifications for the course section in the "specific requirements" section
- Choose your top 3-5 team preferences (in case sections fill up quickly)
- Thoroughly review the registration information for each section listed on MyUI (i.e., info on optimum enrollment and wait list)
- When you're eligible to register for Spring classes, enroll in the course section of your preference via MyUI
- Contact dsl-HSB@uiowa.edu with any questions or concerns throughout this process
